We won't have any tall sizes just yet.

K's brother is 6'4" and slim, and the 40 seemed to fit him well. For these new shirts, we've also lengthened the sleeves a bit. If you send us your measurements, we can help you find an appropriate size.

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

Thanks!

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

You guys are super rad.

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

You guys are super rad.

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

Hey Talton, we won't be offering tall sizes necessarily, but we did lengthen our arms a tad, proportionally for all sizes, so hopefully that gives you the allowance you need.

And if you're in between sizes you could always size up to get that longer length, and get darts in the shirt, which is what we recommend for those looking for an even slimmer fit.

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

Thanks Seph! You're the first one we've gotten this from. We actually lengthened the arm lengths a tad, to account for any possible shrinkage (though our shirts should experience minimal shrinking anyway, if you follow our washing instructions).

The sleeves should have a standard fit based on your size. If they're still too long, a tailor should be able to alter that quite easily, since we've removed all pleating in the sleeve (which also makes it easier to iron, double bonus).

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

Hey Christopher, we won't be offering tall sizes, but we did make a few tweaks to the silhouette (including lengthening the arms a bit) that may help the fit. K's brother is 6'4" and it seems to fit him quite nicely.

Hopefully in the future, we can offer a wider variety of sizing. We'll get there!

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

+1 tall sizes with longer arm lengths. 36.5-37 for a lengthy gent like me and 16.5 neck. Just throwing that out there. Probably going to have to tailor the sides regardless to make it fitted. No parachute shirts here!

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

Great news. Will your shirts be offered in shorter arm length's ?

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

Looking forward to what it all will look like!

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

Keep it up guys!

Re: What we’ve been up to at HQ

Will there be any tall sizes added?

Re: In time for the holidays: $125 worth of goods for $75

Hey Abdul, it looks like we're completely sold out of the Bennington in both the white oxford and grey/white poplin. Someone actually bought the last white one this morning; that's probably why you're only seeing sizes available for the purple / white plaid.

We'll definitely have more white oxfords in our next collection; it was quite popular.

And glad you like your square and that it's getting a lot of use!

-K

Re: In time for the holidays: $125 worth of goods for $75

I'm looking at the Bennington and I can't seem to add the one I want to my cart. It only lets me select the purple/white plaid. I want either the white oxford of the grey/white poplin.

And Chris, I know she does send out the rewards. I got my pocket square a while back and I have it on me most days. It takes a while when you try to make 300+ pocket squares and 40+ ties by hand. You've been getting our updates through Kickstarter, right?

If you were at any point wondering about your reward, you could've always emailed us (as opposed to, say, leaving a snarky comment), and we would've sent your package out to you right away, since you cared enough to inquire about it.

Re: In time for the holidays: $125 worth of goods for $75

Does this work the same as your Kickstarter did? It's nice hearing that we're not the only ones to experience poor quality with some of our product. I think manufacturers (the sub-par ones at least) are more about getting the job done, than taking their time to do the job right.

We're looking forward to our next collection, because we have enough knowledge about the process to omit a lot of the same mistakes.

Re: Reflections on our factory experience, and what’s next for 5&B

Yes, it was definitely heartbreaking having to pull some inventory, but it wouldn't have lived up to the quality we were striving for, so it's not worth it in the long run.

Thanks so much for your comment, and you're right, it's nice knowing we're not alone. It gets easier and soon these types of things won't get your stomach in a twirl anymore, but in all honesty, you'll probably have new things that will. Ha. :-) It's really cool that you are pulling back the curtain on the process leading up to manufacturing and beyond. It's quite the process and I think most consumers have no idea what goes into it, especial for us (mostly) self-funded small guys (gals). Love the line!

Re: Reflections on our factory experience, and what’s next for 5&B

This is so familiar to me as the co-founder of Tortuga Backpacks (www.tortugabackpacks.com).

It's shocking to work with a manufacturer that doesn't have the same definition of quality that our company does.

Although we just successfully launched, it took us almost two years to be able to manufacture the perfect backpack.

Stick with it, and keep demanding the best!

Re: Reflections on our factory experience, and what’s next for 5&B

i feel your pain as a DE myself. actually when i first started in the business working with a independent designer that was one of the first things i was told as a production manager, "you need to talk to the people as if they were 3rd graders" she said. at first i thought it was a bit degrading her comment but now i understood were she was coming from. but from the sounds of it you did the right thing pulling it! to many mistakes! i have done my fair share of steaming and clipping, it's definitely annoying. i wish you the best, i love discovering fellow small designers and seeing that we all pretty much go through the same things, your not alone...
